About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and analytical individual to support the development of Oluto — our AI-powered financial autopilot for Canadian small businesses. This paid internship is ideal for a student or early-career professional with a strong interest in business analytics, artificial intelligence, accounting systems, and digital transformation.
You will work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate real accounting and operational needs into data-driven, AI-enabled solutions — including voice expense recording, AI receipt capture, CRA-ready tax tracking, and real-time cash flow insights.

Key Responsibilities
- Gather and document business requirements for Oluto's expense tracking, invoicing, and tax compliance features
- Analyse user data and financial workflows to inform product decisions and AI model improvements
- Collaborate with engineering to translate CRA tax rules and Canadian accounting standards into product specifications
- Research competitive landscape in Canadian fintech and bookkeeping automation
- Support user testing and validation of AI features such as voice expense recording and receipt capture
Qualifications
Must Haves
- Enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or CS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, or Python)
- Interest in AI/ML in accounting
- Excellent communication skills
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Canadian tax (GST/HST)
- Product management or UX research
- Familiarity with QuickBooks/Xero
- Prior startup experience
